I would love to add Digital Story telling to one of the choices of genre for my students projects. It really isn’t that difficult to do and I actually enjoyed doing it. However, I can see some problems. First of all, I am still an infant in this process, so I would not be very helpful to them if they ran into problems. I don’t like the idea that I would not be able to help them out of a problem. Second, we do not have equipment for the students to check out and use to complete these projects. Some kids would have the ability to do this, but others would not have the right equipment at home. A third potential problem that might occur would be the wonderful, state of art technology that we use in our building. It may be to advanced to operate such prehistoric programs. Ha! (Sorry my sarcasm was impossible to contain at that moment.)
In order to improve my own skills, I think I would like to attempt to make a few videos to use in class. Maybe I could film a demonstration of an experiement I would like them to see but don’t have enough time for them to do themselves, or create picture stories of things we have done in class to share with other classes or parents.
On a personal note, I think it might be fun to make some digital stories to share with my relatives that live far away. My grandparents, the kids grandparents, etc. I think it would be a great way to keep them connected to the kids lives and to see them do things as they grow. Now I just need to motivate myself to do it. (Iam I may be calling you in a few months to help me make videos for Christmas presents
Wouldn’t that be cool!
